Inspired by the bizarre sound palette of Triplets of Belleville and expansive solo work of Parov Stellar, MNTRA seamlessly blends electro swing, jazz, and house on his latest track “Rendezvous.” Harnessing the untapped potential of brass and horns in house music, MNTRA brings new life to a historically timeless genre. “Rendezvous” transports you back to a 1920’s swing dance floor, while delivering striking energy that is begging to be heard by venues and clubs this year. He experiments with sound design by combining unlikely everyday noises with powerful, tight-cut baselines. The wavering balance between vocals and production serve as a way for the song to be bubbly and full throughout. The final result is a bouncy, jazzy electro house tune that is sure to make your body move in ways you’ve never experienced.

Rising talent from California’s underground house and techno scene, MNTRA, is back with a sassy second release on Electro Swing Thing. The producer is based in San Luis Obispo but his signature style resonates with dance music communities all over the state. MNTRA is no stranger to funk and breaks in his solo project and production in Boiz House. “Demented” is a quirky, narrative electro-house tune that will surely give you a taste of these sounds.
